Music is one of the most powerful forms of therapy for older people, especially those with diseases like Alzheimers and dementia. Despite this, music only serves a minor portion of treatment being used in care homes across the world. In the UK, research shows that only 5% of care homes across the country have access to good quality music programs (Care Quality Commission).
Blooms solves this by having an easy-to-use interface which can be engaged with by both carers and the elderly. It features a bespoke and tailored list of music which may engage todays elderly, along with features for the future, like a recommendation engine, but already built-in, a system to get music depending on the age of the patient.
